Advantages of
PBH Section Bending Machine

PBH Double Pinch Section Bending Machine customizes bent profiles from various metals, to reduce costs and minimize tangent/trim. (Pre-bending function with the PBH minimizes the straight tangent flat often required with other machines, saving time and materials.)

In China, BIT’s Profile Bending Machine in standard configuration is delivered with a package of features that usually are not available in the other machine:

  • Three Power Rotation Rolls and Double-Pinch: PBH section benders come with three power rotation rolls, guaranteeing maximum bending torque and automatic speed compensation. The double-pinch feature on lower rolls allows the pre-bending of both the leading and trailing ends of the profile directly on the machine, reducing scrap at segment beginnings and ends.
  • Boasts the Market’s Strongest Full-Frame Design: PBH section bending machines feature robust, spacious structures made from heavy-gauge steel plates, ensuring reliability. Frames are reinforced to minimize deformation, with stress relief after welding ensuring precision and longevity.
  • Combination Bending Molds for any Profiles: PBH section benders come with versatile bending combination molds, facilitating easy bending of various profiles including flat bars, square bars, tees, channels, round bars, square & rectangular tubes, and angles. These universal molds offer practical solutions for diverse bending needs.
  • Efficient Bending Control Hydraulic 3D Guide Rolls: Hydraulic 3D guide rolls on PBH benders work closely with bending rolls, adjustable in 6 directions for optimal control of planarity, diameter calibration, and asymmetrical section twisting prevention, and force the profile to create a spiral if needed. Equipped with angle leg-in bending tooling/cam rollers, aiding in diameter calibration or recovery. Notes: 3D guide rolls with cam rollers for correcting inherent twists when rolling angle leg-in bending, they aid in diameter calibration or recovery.

The following is an example of the PBH series: Heavy-Duty Double Pinch Section Bending Machine all come standard with 8 sets(up to 9 sets) of oil cylinder drives; Standard equipment combination molds can finish processing many standard metal profiles; Low energy consumption – energy saving, lower power than other machines on the market with the same bending capacity.

How it Works

Regardless of your needs and budget for a section bending machine, choosing BIT ensures you benefit from our commitment to quality and integrity in every detail of PBH section bending machines.

PBH section bending machines with a driven-by 3-roll rotation system, makes bending easier and prevents marks on the material, particularly when bending round or square pipes. This design offers superior flexibility, allowing for optimal performance.

The working phases of a section bending machine include loading, roll movement to achieve pinching, the working phase involving pressure increase and profile deformation, and unloading. The machine’s working principle significantly influences these phases, particularly loading and pinching, where adequate roll movement is crucial. This principle ensures efficient loading, secure pinching, precise deformation, and seamless unloading of the bent profiles.

PBH Section Bending Machine
Structural Feature

At BIT, we prioritize precision, durability, and safety in PBH section rolling machines, ensuring they meet the highest standards in the industry.

PBH Series Section Bending Machines are small in size, compact and reasonable in structure, reliable in performance, and convenient in operation and maintenance.

  • Specifically designed for the mass section bending process, featuring a PLC control system that records the position of the rollers in each bend, allowing for easy repetition of operations.
  • PBH section bending machines offer the flexibility to be positioned both vertically and horizontally, accommodating different bending requirements. Working in a vertical position is recommended for smaller-diameter pieces, while larger diameters are better suited for horizontal positioning to prevent the weight of the piece from affecting the results.
  • Self-aligning roller bearings reduce friction, enhancing efficiency, while trackless movement in the pivoting arm minimizes wear.
  • The mold of PBH section bender, forged from 42CrMo and quenched to HB235~270, offers exceptional mechanical properties, strength, and wear resistance, ideal for heavy-duty applications with a prolonged lifespan.
  • An independent mobile operation table or Bluetooth remote control operation ensures operator safety and ease of use.
  • PBH machines are optional equipped with state-of-the-art 5.5 technology, and with remote connectivity, manufacturers can perform software updates and detect anomalies in the machine without the need for onsite visits.

With section roll bending, the mold combination determines the effective radius and a steel section/profile’s standard sizes and yield strength. Depending on your steel section choice, the effective radius (the internal radius after bending) may be smaller for a larger the size gauge, or vice versa. Our effective bend radii are listed on Metal Section Bending Capacity Calculator page.

Flat Bar
PBH 300 Bending & Rolling the Flate Bar

Flat bars are versatile in tank stiffeners, flanges, and lintels. They bend easily in round, square, or rectangular shapes along the “easy way” (y-y axis), forming a belt-like shape. Bending flat bars the “hard way” (x-x axis) is more challenging, resembling a large flange. The PBH section bending machine adeptly handles bar bending, meeting precise radii requirements without distortion. Our goal is to minimize scrap and waste, helping clients economize amid rising metal prices. Learn More

Square Steel Bar

Minimum Bending Radii
and Tolerances

Common Terminology of Profile Bending

The minimum bending radius for a section depends on its properties and bending methods. Advancements in techniques have reduced these minimum radii over time. Normal tolerances for single radius bends adhere to national specifications, while complexities warrant specialist consultation.
Generally, sections can be bent to single or multi-radius curves, parabolic or elliptical shapes, or even co-ordinates. However, physical constraints limit three-dimensional curvature. Thus, detailed discussion during inquiry stages is crucial for complex bending requirements.
