Weight Formula for Equal Angle Steel
The formula used to calculate the weight per meter of angle bars is as follows:
W=[(2A−t)⋅t+(1−π/4)⋅(rint2−2⋅rout2)]⋅ρ
Where:
- W is the weight per meter of the angle bar.
- t is the thickness of the flanges.
- A is the flange width.
- ρ is the density of the material.
- rout is the radius of the outer curvature of the flanges.
- rint is the radius of inner rounding.
This formula takes into account the thickness of the flanges, flange width, density of the material, and the radii of the inner and outer rounding to calculate the weight per meter of the angle bar.
If the size of the angle bar you need is not found in the reference tables, the weight can be calculated using this approximate formula. However, it’s important to note that the accuracy of the calculation may vary depending on how closely the dimensions of the angle bar match those used in the standard tables.
